I am a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. I trained at the Clifton Practice – a recognised Centre of Excellence for Hypnotherapy.

Solution focused hypnotherapy is designed to relieve the symptoms of anxiety and stress, and to calm or ‘down-regulate’ the mind.  Solution focused hypnotherapy is different (from other forms of hypnotherapy) in that instead of looking at your problems or the cause of your problems, we look at what you want to achieve.  i.e., we focus on the present and future, and not on the past.   I can help with many areas such as stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, motivation, confidence, weight, emotional eating, phobias, and much more.

In addition to my training in Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am also trained and have a wealth of experience in a number of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Dynamic Eating Psychology.  This makes me uniquely positioned to tailor every program to the client depending on their individual need.  I also have a PhD in Experimental Psychology.

I am fully insured, and am registered with both the Association for Solution Focused Therapy (AfSFH) and the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) which means I am committed to the highest standards and adhere to a code of professional conduct.

I recently consulted Marcelle Crinean of Brain Reframe as I was going through a particularly stressful time caring for my sick elderly mother and 2 teenage boys on my own and running a full time business.

Marcelle and I had an initial meeting during which she explained what she did and how she focusses on moving forward rather than going into what has happened in the past. I found this particularly refreshing as I really didn’t want to relive the day to day stresses I was trying to cope with.

Marcelle explained very thoroughly how the brain works and why I was feeling the way I did. She suggested how I could take small but positive steps to make myself feel better and helped me to come up with realistic aims.
